Beatrice Camp, US Consul General, Shanghai
Beatrice Camp arrived in September 2008 for a three-year posting as U.S. Consul General in Shanghai. She has previously served in Beijing, as well as at embassies in Thailand, Hungary, and Sweden.
Her most recent overseas assignment was as U.S. Consul General in Chiang Mai, Thailand. During several Washington assignments, Ms. Camp has managed international information programs for Europe, coordinated educational exchange and advising programs worldwide, and served as U.S. Information Agency desk officer for Southeast Asia. Before joining the Foreign Service in 1983, Ms. Camp worked as a reporter and editor in Washington and New York City.
Brenda Lei Foster, President, American Chamber of Commerce, Shanghai
Brenda Lei Foster assumed the newly created position of President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai (AmCham Shanghai) in September 2005. She is responsible for overseeing all of the Chamber’s initiatives, as well as representing it and American business interests in China.
Prior to assuming this position she was President and CEO of ULU Group, Ltd., a firm specializing in emerging technologies in the Asia-Pacific region. Brenda has also held the positions of Executive Advisor to the Governor of Hawaii for International and National Affairs, Director of the State of Hawaii’s Office of International Relations, and Executive Director of Hawaii’s World Affairs Council, the Pacific and Asian Affairs Council.
JoAnne "Joni" S. Bessler, Director, Booz & Company, Shanghai
JoAnne S. Bessler (Joni) is a Director of Booz & Company based in Shanghai. In her 28 years with Booz, she has lived and worked in China, U.S., Singapore, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Australia. Hope Chen is a managing director with Draper Fisher Jurvetson and head of DFJ China leading investments in TMT, Energy and Consumer retail sectors in Energy and Consumer retail sectors in China.
Hope is the chairperson and one of the founding members for Women in Leadership, a premier organization for women leaders in venture capital firms, private equity funds and multi-national corporations in China. Ms. Chen has close to 15 years of operational experience in internet and IT industry.
She was most recently founder and co-CEO of Billpoint, Inc., which pioneered online person to person payments. Hope holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School. She received her BA in both Computer Science and Philosophy from Wellesley College.
Siobhan Das Bachran, Director of Committees, AmCham, Shanghai, China
Siobhan Das Bachran was appointed Director of Committees in 2006 to head the new department at AmCham Shanghai that today oversees 23 industry committees. A seasoned executive and communicator from the media and entertainment field, Siobhan builds networks and communities within the membership to provide a platform for members to interact. She is responsible for overseeing the Chamber’s strategic partnerships with organizations such as The Brookings Institution and the Asia Society.
Prior to joining AmCham Shanghai ran her own film and event production company. Educated in the U.K. and the U.S., Siobhan is originally from Malaysia and lives in Shanghai with her husband who is from Hawaii.
Lorna Davis, President, Kraft Foods, China
Lorna Davis is President of Kraft Foods in China, responsible for developing and directing business strategies for Kraft Foods’ growth in this dynamic market. With over 20 years’ experience in the food industry, Lorna’s depth of knowledge and ability to manage people across cultures has allowed her to provide innovative and highly effective business solutions.
Lorna has served as Managing Director for four international biscuit companies - Danone Biscuits Company in China, Jacobs Bakery in the United Kingdom, Irish Biscuits, and Griffins in New Zealand. Lorna worked for Danone for more than 10 years in strong international markets, including China, France, New Zealand and UK. She has a bachelor’s degree in Social Science in Psychology from the University of Cape Town.
Camille Purvis Dawson, U.S. Consulate, Shangahai
Camille Purvis Dawson began her assignment at the U.S. Consulate in Shanghai in November 2009. In this capacity, she coordinates U.S. Government activities in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces.
A career Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State, Camille has been assigned to Beijing twice, first as the Deputy Spokesperson from 2003-2005 and then as the Public Diplomacy Officer responsible for exchange programs from 2006-2009. She served as a Political and Consular Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Manila from 2000-2002.
Camille received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas and a Master of International Affairs degree from Columbia University.
Debbie Delaney, Consultant, Multinational Companies in Asia, US, Europe and South Africa
Since 2000, Debbie Delaney has worked with multinational companies in Asia, the US, Europe, and South Africa developing, facilitating and coordinating individual and team development efforts. Included in these efforts is the facilitation of creativity workshops to build corporate innovation strategy plans; the development of comprehensive leadership development programs for Asia Pacific managers and global executives; and the design of learning programs that assist transformational change management.
Debbie currently lives in Shanghai, China and volunteers for the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai’s Education & Training Committee.
Pilar Dieter, Principal, Solidance
Pilar Dieter serves as Principal for Solidiance, Asia’s premier strategy consulting firm leading their Greater China operations in their Shanghai office.
Based in China for five years, Pilar most recently was Senior Director for Alaris Consulting in Shanghai where she was responsible for managing client accounts for the firm’s clients focused on projects related to supply chain initiatives, market growth strategies and transaction services.
Pilar has been an active member of the Silicon Valley Product Management Association, American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, where she served as a committee chairperson, the Global Supply Chain Council and Women in Logistics. Originally from California, she and her family currently reside in Shanghai.
Nancy Gougarty, Vice President, TRW, Asia Pacific Region
Nancy Gougarty was appointed to the position of vice president for TRW operations in the Asia-Pacific region in January 2008. Based at the Asia-Pacific headquarters in Shanghai, she oversees operations of over 25 plants. Nancy’s career began in 1978 when she started with Delphi Packard Electric as an industrial engineer.
She is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and holds an EMBA from Case Western Reserve University and a B.S. in industrial management from University of Cincinnati.
She serves as Advisor to the President of Marietta College and the GM Pace Award Advisor for University of Cincinnati. She lives in Shanghai with her husband and three daughters.
Alejandra Guzman, Author & Independent Consultant
Alejandra Guzman worked for 7 years as Planner and Marketing Strategist in Ogilvy & Mather in her hometown of Mexico City and New York. After moving to Shanghai, she was head of communications of an international healthcare company.
Later, she co-authored the book Thrive, Thirty-four Women. Eighteen Countries. One Goal, a book published in June 2010. At present, she is an independent consultant and advisor to www.latinoamericanosenchina.com, and other Latin American companies doing business in China.

Clancey Houston currently serves as senior counselor and client leader for WPP’s blended public relations team supporting Ford Motor Company in their Asia Pacific and Africa region. She provides counsel to Ford communications teams in the region and guides a WPP blended agency team comprised of consultants from Burson-Marsteller, Hill & Knowlton and Ogilvy.
Clancey brings more than a decade in communications expertise to clients around the region and close to two decades of consulting experience covering corporate, marketing and crisis communications, and market-entry and investment research based on time spent as a professional in San Francisco, Shanghai, Taipei and Guangzhou.

Marie Kissel was appointed to the position of Director, Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP), Asia Pacific, for Baxter International in 2006. As of the end of 2010, the company has over 300,000 employees in Mainland China, servicing about 4,000 restaurants over 700 cities across the country covering 4 brands: KFC, Pizza Hut, Pizza Hut Home Service and East Dawning. Christabel has been with Yum! since 1997, starting off as the training and development director and becaming the head of HR in 2000. Shirley Lu is a seasoned marketer with experience gained from leading MNCs in the consumer product and B2B industries across Asia. She works for Rich Products Corporation as the Regional Marketing Director for Asia Pacific, based in Shanghai. At Rich Products, she spearheads consumer and customer insights, strategic planning, innovation, marketing and culinarian services. Sarah Moore, Committees Associate, American Chamber of Commerce, Shanghai
Sarah Moore is a Committees Associate with the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. She has worked on various projects at the Chamber, including developing a new online internship platform to connect U.S. university students with AmCham Shanghai member companies.
Sarah grew up living between Japan and the U.S. and has lived in Shanghai for one year. She enjoys singing, swimming and traveling and holds a B.A. in East Asian studies from Davidson College in North Carolina.
Krisanna Oopik, Committees Liaison, American Chamber of Commerce, Shanghai
Krisanna Oopik is a Committees Liaison with the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. She is in charge of seven committees at the Chamber including Aerospace, Design & Construction, Education & Training, Environmental and IT. In her role at the Chamber, she has helped American businesses in China address current issues in their industry, and has planned dozens of events and roundtables based on member needs.

Carol Potter, President & CEO of BBDO Greater China is one of the best known and respected women in global advertising. She arrived in Shanghai as CEO of BBDO China in 2006. She started her career as a young graduate in the then hottest advertising agency - Saatchi & Saatchi. Having worked successfully in Sydney, New York, Tokyo and London, marketing and advertising the world’s most famous brands and dealing with Fortune 500 companies, she is one of the most experienced women in global advertising.
Along the way Carol has contributed to the success of brands from detergents to diamonds. Companies and brands she has worked with include Unilever, Pepsi, Visa, Kelloggs, Avis, Dunlop, Cinzano and Nivea. She spent between 2001 and 2004 running the De Beers account globally. During that time more women in the world received a diamond than ever before.

Helen Ren has been Director of Finance and Administration at AmCham Shanghai since 1999. She leads a team of accounting, HR, IT and admin staff. Kate E. Ryge, AmCham Shanghai's Committees Department
Kate E. Ryge moved to Shanghai from the San Francisco Bay Area in 2008 and joined the AmCham Shanghai’s Committees Department soon thereafter. She is responsible for a portfolio of working groups including Food, Ag & Beverage, Healthcare and Marketing. She recently helped to start the Chamber’s Young Professionals Forum, a group for professional and leadership development and networking.
Apart from her responsibilities at the Chamber, Kate is an avid cook and fashion lover, and contributes to blogs about both. She holds a B.A. from the University of California, Davis and a teaching credential from St. Mary’s College.
Ing-Nan Nancy Shen is a senior branding, marketing and operations executive, with 20 years of experience in developing, marketing and managing consumer brands worldwide. As of May 1st, she joined London-based global private equity firm, Neo Capital, as Senior Operating Advisor and will support expansion of the firm and its portfolio companies throughout the Asia-Pacific region, with a particular focus on China. She will be based in Shanghai. Blessing Waung is an editor and reporter for Time Out Shanghai, currently designing the magazine’s website and digital media platforms.
Blessing chairs the Young Alumni Council in Shanghai for the University of Southern California. Her past work experience includes Condé Nast Traveler in New York, where she monitored the magazine’s Facebook, Twitter and blog accounts and was instrumental in the redesign of the magazine’s interactive media site.

Prior to working at Bund Center, Deborah launched the Grand Opening of the new Grand Tower at Westin Bund Center, and furthered her Chinese at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Deborah graduated as a Renaissance Scholar from the University of Southern California with magna cum laude honors, double majoring in International Relations & Communication with a minor in Cinema-Television. Upon graduating, Deborah continued to pursue her interest in film at New York Film Academy and made four short films.
Nora Wu, Lead Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers
Nora Wu is the Lead Partner for Shanghai PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). She oversees the PwC Shanghai office business across service lines, comprising of 2,800 professional staff including 100 partners.
Nora chairs the Culture Committee and Corporate Responsibility for PwC China/HK/Singapore firm. She also sits at the Global PwC Experience Steering and is one of the PwC Global Gender Advisory Council members who provide advices to PwC Global CEO on diversity issues in PwC.
Nora received her bachelor degree in accounting from the University of San Francisco, Cum Lauder in 1988. She was a California Certified Public Accountant.
Huoy-Ming Yeh
Huoy-Ming Yeh is a managing director with SVB Capital China responsible for managing SVB's renminbi-denominated funds. She brings to the position more than 12 years of experience in venture capital.
She co-founded and was director of PacRim Venture Partners, a venture capital firm focused on diversified IT investments. Prior to PacRim, she worked at Technology Funding with previous experience in advisory work on M&A and public offerings for venture-stage companies at Lehaman Brothers.
Huoy-Ming holds a bachelor's degree in physics from Wellesley College, a master's degree in electrical enginieering from USC and a master of business administration degree from MIT.
Tineke Zuurbier, Public Policy Manager
Tineke Zuurbier is Public Policy Manager for Baxter in Asia Pacific, based in Shanghai. Before moving to Shanghai in 2008, Tineke was the Assistant Director of the TransAtlantic Business Dialogue (TABD) in Brussels, a group of European and US CEOs supporting joint US-EU economic and regulatory cooperation. She also was EU Affairs Advisor for Deltalinqs, the industry association for companies in the Port of Rotterdam. From 2002 to 2006, Tineke was Policy Assistant to Dutch Members of the European Parliament in the European Liberal Democrat party, working on various portfolios including transport and chemicals regulation. Tineke is a Dutch national and holds a Master degree in International Relations from the University of Groningen.
